Our Mission: Supporting People to Meet Their Goals
Tower Hamlets is a fascinating place to live and work. It is an inner-city London borough that is full of contrasts and extremes. For centuries, it has had amongst the highest levels of social deprivation and health inequalities in the country.
The population is highly diverse, mobile and young and is changing rapidly due to both population growth and new trends in migration. Addressing the needs of the most vulnerable in our communities is at the heart of the council’s strategic plan.
All of this makes Tower Hamlets a fantastic, exciting and fulfilling place to work as a Director of Adult Social Care.
We are looking for someone who shares the ambition of Tower Hamlets Council for excellence in delivery for our residents.
As Director you will be part of a strong and committed Directorate Leadership Team and will lead a stable Senior Leadership team.
You will provide strategic leadership on adult safeguarding and all aspects of adult social care and support working across the whole Council to ensure a collaborative and joined up approach that enables the best possible outcomes for our residents.
Leading on improvement and transformation in the service you will continue to progress the service’s vision for Adults Social Care and CQC readiness preparation following a successful ADASS peer review in January.
As a key partner of Tower Hamlets Together, you will drive integration between health and social care, collaborating with key stakeholders across the Tower Hamlets Place Partnership (Tower Hamlets Together) and the North East London (NEL) Integrated Care Board (ICB) to deliver improved outcomes for local residents.
This is an exciting role for a qualified social worker working at a senior level who understands good practice, has excellent organisation and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with partners. This role will make a real difference, helping to transform how we deliver together and with our communities, to put Tower Hamlets at the leading edge of strengths-based care and support.
